I decided to tell you guys a bit more about myself and my art, because many of you asked me personal questions. Actually I am not very good at talking about myself…but I will give it a go!
I have loved art and photography since when I have memory. I don’t ever remember myself without pastels, papers, crayons, brushes, watercolours, while trying to work out how to see the result of the picture I took with my dad’s analogic Minolta. When I was about five I was convinced that every time I took a picture I should have been able to see it straight away, so I carefully opened my dad’s camera to check what was on the film, of course in full light, and sadly there was absolutely nothing…I tried and tried but always the same result. My parents just started a new business so there were always busy working. I didn’t know that the next year they invented exactly what I needed…a digital camera! With time and practise I learnt the secrets and magic of film photography, but at that time then all I wanted was to impatiently get a result straight away. Luckily my dad decided to buy a Polaroid, which changed my childhood into lots of little squared memories.
My grandmother always told everyone that I would have been an artist since when I was 2, and she was my very first collector. Still now she has pictures I drew when I was little on her walls, bless her.
If I am here today, I have to thank my family for always have been my first and never ending supporters. So my first advice for any of you guys out there who want to make your dreams come true is to truly love your family. You will need their support in every step you take, from the first day into your art school, until the one you take to get into your first solo exhibition. Love your family, always.
